Suffield Firefighter Killed in Crash

Paul Simison was a 25-year-veteran of Suffield Fire Department Company 2.

A Suffield firefighter was killed in a crash on Wednesday morning.

Paul Simison, a 25-year-veteran of Suffield Fire Department Company 2, was killed in a two-car crash on Mountain Road in West Suffield just before 8 a.m.

“The department is currently dealing with the tragic loss of firefighter Paul Simison,”Chief Mike Thibedeau said in a statement. “He was a well-liked member and a valuable asset to our department. He will be greatly missed.”

The crash was reported at 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday. Simison was transported to Baystate Hospital for serious injuries and has died.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team will be investigating the collision.
