A Taste of Fall as Tropics Become Active

Tropics are becoming more active...

NBC Connecticut Meteorologists are forecasting slightly cooler than normal temperatures and low humidity for the next few days.

We start out the workweek and, for some, the school year, quiet with mostly sunny skies on Monday and temperatures in the middle 70s.

Our next weather system could arrive toward the middle of the week with a brush from a tropical system.

We're monitoring a disturbance off of the Florida coast that could become Tropical Storm Erin later Sunday or Monday.

While the system is expected to track to the north, it should stay well off of the United States east coast therefor a direct impact is very unlikely.

The storm could come close enough to New England to result in cloudy skies, rain showers, and possibly even some wind.

The system would likely be closest to Connecticut during the Wednesday/Thursday time frame.
