Armed Robbers Smash Pizza Delivery Man's Car, Steal Food: New Haven Police

A pizza delivery man for Brick Oven Pizza was robbed at gunpoint in New Haven on Sunday.

The victim told police that he was delivering food to 100 Porter Street at about 1:20 a.m. when he came upon a man in the driveway as he pulled in, police said. The man told him he didn't have any money when the delivery man was giving him his order and he turned around to see two more people, one armed with a gun, coming from the open garage, police said.

The pizza deliveryman realized he was in danger, got back in his car and took off, but turned out to be headed in the direction of a dead end, according to police. The people who robbed him were chasing after him and with no where to go in his car, he got out, locked the car and ran from the area, police said.

He came back once they had left and saw his window was smashed and that the rest of the food order was missing, according to police.

There was no description of the robbers immediately available and no suspects have been identified at this time.

Police are investigating.
