Autopsy Shows Waterbury Woman Was Strangled: AP

The chief medical examiner's office has determined that a woman found dead in her Waterbury home earlier this week was strangled.

The Republican-American reports that an autopsy on Thursday showed that Kacy Austin, 44, died from asphyxiation through compression of the neck. The medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide.

Police said they don't have any suspects in custody and they're asking the public for help.

Austin worked for a nonprofit company that helps state prisoners transition into the community.

Authorities said Austin's 17-year-old son found her unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom in their home on Tuesday morning.

Police said there were no signs of a forced entry and no reports of any unusual noises coming from the home.
