Branford police said their investigation determined a suspicious package reported in the area of the Branhaven Plaza Monday morning was not dangerous.
A concerned citizen reported the package, which brought police and the fire department to the plaza on Route 1 and Short Beach Road.
Their investigation caused traffic backups in the area.
All roads have reopened, police said.
