"If you build it, they will come." Or so said Kevin Costner in the 1989 flick "Field of Dreams".
Friends of Vintage Base Ball is trying to bring that notion back, 20 years later. They've asked the City of Hartford to build a Vintage baseball field in Colt Park.
Vintage teams have played games in Hartford during the summer. The teams play their games with rules, equipment and uniforms that were used in the 1800s.
Friends of Vintage Base Ball (yes, it was two words back in the day) are working with the Coalition to Strengthen the Sheldon/Charter Oak Neighbor hood and the city to develop its plans.
The City of Hartford has not released any public comment on plans to build the field.
