CIA Defense Sends Son To Mental Hospital

Claiming the CIA made him kill his father, a Enfield man will spend 50 years in a mental hospital for the shocking crime.

Brian Pagnam, 41, will be sent to Whiting Forensic division of Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown -- the state's only hospital for the criminally insane.

In October 2008, Pagnam beat his 85-year-old father to death.  Pagnam put a bag on his father's head and stomped on his neck. Enfield police said.  He said he believed his father was one of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorists and he was ordered by the CIA to kill his dad.

A three-judge panel in Hartford Superior Court made the decision after finding Pagnam not guilty of murder by reason of mental disease.
