A teenage mom's trip to Old Navy led her on a trip to the police station after she left her 11-month-old in a cold car while she shopped, police said.
Sasha Edwards, 19, of Branford, is accused of leaving her child in the vehicle while shopping at the Old Navy off Dixwell Avenue in New Haven.
Police approached Edwards, who had been shopping for about 15 minutes, after after someone reported seeing the child in the car.
Edwards was charged with risk of injury to a minor and leaving a child alone under the age of 12. She's being held on $500.
Police have notified the Department of Children and Families.
