A 41-year-old Danbury woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol was going the wrong way on Interstate 84 East in Newtown early Monday morning when she hit another vehicle head-on, according to state police.
The crash happened between exits 9 and 10 around 2:13 a.m.
State police said the driver of a tractor-trailer was heading east on I-84 East and the driver of a GMC Terrain was heading west on the eastbound side of the highway when she hit the truck head-on.
The driver of the GMC suffered minor injuries and she was charged with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment and driving the wrong way on a highway.

The tractor-trailer went off the road, damaging around 100 feet of guardrail, state police said.
