No injuries are reported after a crash that closed Route 8 at the Winsted-Colebrook line Thursday morning, according to police.
The Winchester Police Department received reports at 10:30 a.m. about a head-on crash on Route 8 between Smith Hill Road and Deer Hill Road involving a tractor-trailer with a car carrier.
Officers responded and found a driver trapped in a Toyota Corolla with New York plates and crews extricated the person.
The driver did not appear to have any injuries but was transported to Waterbury Hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the tractor-trailer car carrier was not injured, according to police.
Investigators said the Toyota was going south on Route 8 and the truck was going north when the Toyota crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lane and hit the tractor-trailer head on, police said.
