Airport Van Crash Update

The person accused of causing a serious crash at Bradley Airport was in court Monday. Police said Jeffrey Baillargeon was drunk when his pickup truck slammed into a Roncari Express airport shuttle. Fourteen people were on the bus and six people were injured in the crash earlier in March. Baillargeon has been charged with driving under the influence and assault with a motor vehicle.


Coma Keeps Teacher Out of Jail

Sentencing could be delayed indefinitely for a former Bridgeport teacher who pleaded guilty to sex charges involving a young girl because Thomas Bavedas, 39, is in a coma. He was awaiting sentencing when he suffered a stroke and brain aneurysm in January. Bavedas is accused of assaulting a 12-year-old girl and taking inappropriate pictures of her, police said. He also faces another pending case in which he is accused of secretly taping young girls as they were changing into their Halloween costumes, prosecutors said.


Police Officer Charged with DUI

A Seymour police officer was in court Monday as a defendant. Meredith Shook, 33, will face a judge on driving under the influence and child endangerment charges. Show was off duty when she hit a guard rail along Derby Avenue in January, police said.


Teen Killed in New Haven

Police in New Haven are investigating the city's latest homicide. Thomas Daniels, 18, was shot in the chest on Hurlburt Street Saturday night. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. Police said they have no motive for the shooting and are searching for suspects.
