Driver Struck Bicyclist Then Fled Scene in Oxford: Police

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a light blue midsized SUV or van driven by a male with short blond hair between the ages of 30 and 40.

Connecticut State Police are trying to track down a driver accused of hitting a bicyclist on Route 67 (Oxford Road) in Oxford Monday.

The bicyclist, an 18-year-old Seymour man, was riding on Route 67 around 4 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle in front of the entrance to Market 32 at 300 Oxford Road. Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a light blue midsized SUV or van driven by a male with short blond hair between the ages of 30 and 40.

The bicyclist was helped by other drivers and taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
