Employees of Orange Beer Distribution Company Go on Strike

Customers are concerned about the impact going into Memorial Day Weekend.

Dozens of employees at DiChello Distributors in Orange are on strike amid contract negotiations and businesses the company serves are concerned about the impact it will have on one of their busiest weekends.

DiChello Distributor distributes beer, including Budweiser, and union representatives for Teamsters Local 443 said they cannot share much information, but the strike started on Sunday afternoon.

The strike comes just before Memorial Day weekend and liquor store owners and employees are hoping this will not impact sales.

"Most likely we will not have the products in here. It's gonna be really hard for us to make the sales. Especially those products."

"Most likely we will not have the products in here. It's gonna be really hard for us to make the sales -- especially those products," John Quezada, of the Wine & Liquor Outlet, said.

NBC Connecticut reached out to DiChello and they said they cannot comment.

In 2011, the union went on strike and it lasted for several weeks.
