A family dog has died in a fire on Whitney Street in Hartford Friday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the scene around 2:20 p.m. and found the home engulfed in flames.
The roof of the home collapsed, fire officials said.
Everyone inside the three-story home was able to get out. A dog did not survive.

It took firefighters about 20 to 25 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The fire appears to have started in the basement, according to fire officials. The cause is under investigation.
At least three families were displaced by the fire, officials said.
