A man from Southington has died after a motorcycle crash on Route 9 in New Britain on Saturday.
Police say 47-year-old Brian Kleinhen, of Southington, was driving a motorcycle in the left lane on the connecting ramp from Route 72 east to Route 9 south shortly after 3:00 p.m. Officers say when he went around a right turn, Kleinhen hit the metal guardrail in the left shoulder.
According to police, Kleinhen was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene.
Route 9 southbound at exit 28 and Route 72 eastbound prior to the on-ramp for Route 9 southbound were closed while police investigated the accident, but they have since reopened.
