Police arrested a 26-year-old man who is accused of leading police and state troopers on a chase from Bridgeport to Milford on Monday and crashing into two vehicles.
Bridgeport police said they received a phone call around 10 p.m. on Monday reporting that people from the north end of Bridgeport were in a blue Chrysler with New York plates with firearms inside that was spotted in the area of Stratford Avenue.
Police officers spotted the car on North Avenue and Wells Street in the afternoon and tried to pull it over, but the driver sped off and got onto Route 25 and 8 southbound, before getting onto Interstate 95 North, police said.
The driver pulled off the highway in Milford, and state troopers and Milford police got involved in the pursuit at that point.
The driver crashed into two other vehicles and stopped at Bay Drive and Hazelwood in Milford, near the Pit Stop Café, police said, and he was transported to a hospital.
Police arrested Kamran Khan and charged him with unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, interfering, using a vehicle without the owner’s permission and several motor vehicle violations.
He remains in custody and his case was continued to April 11.
