Man Charged in Home Invasion Suspected in Glastonbury Burglary

A Hartford man who was charged in a violent home invasion in West Hartford is also suspected of breaking into a Glastonbury home and stealing $50,000 worth of jewelry and other valuables.

Tony Villegas, 37, of Hartford, was arrested on Thursday, and is suspected of breaking into a home on Neipsic Road in Glastonbury in March.

Police said the victims saw him leaving their driveway in a white Avalon when they were returning home.

Villegas was charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

He has been in prison since he was arrested on the West Hartford charges. He pleaded not guilty to thise charges and is due back in court on July 15.

He is due in Manchester Superior Court.
