The Rock Cats held their home opener in New Britain for the 37th year Thursday night.
Hundreds crowded into the New Britain Stadium for the first game of the season against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
Before the game, players took time to meet fans, sign autographs and take pictures.
NBC 30 got in on the fun. Meteorologist Bob Maxon and anchors Yvonne Nava and Anjuli Porter proved they're talents extend past the television studio.
Yvonne and Bob threw out the first pitches. After the tosses, Anjuli sang the National Anthem, showing her vocal chords can do much more than just deliver the news.
The story doesn't have a happy ending for New Britain fans. The Rock Cats lost to the Fisher Cats, 2-0.
