Police are investigating after a person died in a car crash in Brookfield Saturday night.
The crash occurred on Candlewood Lake Road at the entrance of Candlewood Birches traveling northbound at 10:45 p.m.
The vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole and then struck a parked car, according to police.
Firefighters extricated the driver from the car and took them to Danbury Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
Police said part of Candlewood Lake Road remained closed for utility pole repairs and has since reopened.
No other injuries were reported.
