A 22-year-old woman has serious injuries after a pickup hit her as she got out of a vehicle in Southington Wednesday night, according to police.
The driver who hit her fled the scene and police said thanks to the public, they received a tip identifying the vehicle responsible.
Police responded to Bristol Street, at George Street, just after 10 p.m. and found Mikaela Emilsson lying in the road, just outside of her vehicle.
Police said she had serious injuries and was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where her condition was upgraded to stable.

According to the preliminary investigation, Emilsson was getting out of the driver’s side of her vehicle when a pickup heading south hit her and her vehicle.
Police said the driver in the pickup left the scene and sped off, heading south on Bristol Street.
