Hartford Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened at a residence on Nelson Street Monday evening.
Officials said the incident happened at 135 Nelson St. at about 5:20 p.m. Police said a man in his 40s was shot multiple times on the second floor back porch.
A resident called police to report the shooting and responding officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died after being transported to the hospital, according to authorities.

Police believe it was a targeted attack and that the shooter and victim knew each other. The man that died has been identified as 46-year-old Chester Gaston.
Officers said they're unsure whether or not the man who was shot lived at the home.
Detectives are in the area investigating the shooting. Officers are speaking to potential witnesses and reviewing camera footage in the area.
