Police Investigate Political Sign Thefts in Stratford

Someone is stealing political signs in Stratford and police have released surveillance photos as they try to determine who is responsible.

Police received a complaint on Thursday that three political signs that had been in front of the Vitamin Shack at 1615 Main Street had been stolen.

These are just the latest in a series of thefts of “Vote Yes” signs, as well as “Rich Fredette for Zoning” and “Barnaby for Council” signs.

The signs were taken at 3:36 a.m., despite the surveillance video timestamp, which is about an hour behind,

The video shows a person in shorts, white socks and work boots removing
the signs and placing them into a car.

Police ask anyone with information about the person in the photos to call Detective Michael Panton at (203) 385-4143, the Stratford Police Anonymous Tips line (203) 375-8477(TIPS) or the Stratford Police Anonymous Tips IWatch app.
