A woman who was found with several stab wounds at the Starlight Inn on Flanders Road in East Lyme Monday night has died and police have arrested a suspect in her killing.
Police responded to the inn around 10:30 p.m. Monday after a witness heard a commotion coming from a room at the motel.
A female victim had been stabbed several times and was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where she died, according to police. She has been identified as 25-year-old Corina Zukowski, of East Lyme.
Police have arrested 28-year-old Avery Hallbrooks, of East Lyme, on a murder charge. Investigators said Hallbrooks and Zukowski were dating and have a child together.
Hallbrooks was held on a $1 million bond and is due in court Wednesday.
