State police investigating an untimely death in Jewett City Wednesday said they were called to a home on North Main Street for the report of a 2-year-old child in cardiac arrest.
Troopers who arrived at the scene just before 3 a.m. performed life-saving measures on the child, but the toddler was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Eastern District Major Crimes Squad is assisting with the investigation. There is no criminal aspect to the investigation, police said.
