Porn Found at Teacher's House: Police

Police were investigating the Greenwich teachers death and made the find.

Greenwich police are investigating after police found what appeared to be child porn at the home of a deceased teacher.

Steven Allen, 57, died on Nov. 9. He had been the orchestra director at the Eastern Middle School in Greenwich for 11 years, according to his obituary.

Police were at his home to investigate Allen’s death when they found a storage bin with photos of sexually explicit photos that appeared to be child pornography, police said. Police believe the photos were from Web sites, many of which were in foreign countries.

Police said there is no indication that anyone in the photos had any local connection to Allen or that he produced the photos.

Greenwich police are investigating to determine Allen’s level of involvement, identify and help possible victims.

Superintendent of Schools Roger J. Lulow told the Greenwich Time that no information in Allen’s background check indicated “accusations or suspicions of inappropriate behavior nor any criminal record.”

"We are surprised because there had been no indication or suspicion that Mr. Allen was involved in any activity of this nature, nor have there been any complaints or accusations regarding his behavior," Lulow told the Time. "We are distressed because we do not condone or tolerate this behavior in anyone, much less a member of our staff."
