School Buses Delayed After Social Media Threat in East Haddam

Students in East Haddam may see an increased police presence Thursday after a social media threat prompted schools to delay buses Wednesday.

Superintendent Brian Reas confirmed buses were delayed Wednesday after a high school student made a comment about a bus blowing up on social media. A bus was taken out of service and police were called in to investigate.

School officials are working with police, Reas said, and there will be precautions in place Thursday.

No other details were immediately available.
