Suspect in Burglaries in Hilltop Section of Ansonia Arrested

Ansonia police have arrested a man suspected in several burglaries in the Hilltop section of town over the summer.

Police arrested Davon Miller, 21, of Ansonia, on five separate arrest warrants on Wednesday.

He is suspected of burglarizing at least five homes, but maybe more, between Aug. 6 and Aug. 21, sometimes as the residents slept.

The burglaries were Reservoir Drive, Farrell Drive, Highland Avenue and Birchwood Drive and stealing four laptops, three tablets, a cell phone, a GPS unit and loose change.

Hundreds of residents came together at the Hilltop Fire House in Ansonia, along with city leaders and police, to discuss block watches in light of a rash of recent home burglaries.

The burglaries led to police adding patrols and neighbors creating block watches to deter crime.

Police said they recovered some of the items.

Miller has been charged with five counts of burglary in the first degree, two counts of larceny in the sixth degree, two counts of larceny in the fifth degree and one count of larceny in the fourth degree.

Police said Miller was captured in connection with burglaries in Derby as well.
