Tea Time in Connecticut

Protesters across the country are taking a page out of 1773 -- as in the Boston Tea Party -- to voice their opposition to President Barack Obama's plans to boost the economy.

Connecticut is no exception.

April 15 isn't only tax day.  Four "Tea Parties" are planned to protest government spending.

The four parties here in the state are part of 600 planned across the country.

The event's Web site
encourages more people opposed to spending by the federal government to organize their own parties.

Four parties are planned across the state this Wednesday:

  • In Hartford, a rally is planned from noon to 2 p.m. on the North Steps of State Capitol.
  • In New Haven, at Long Wharf from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • In New Milford, at 10 a.m. on the New Milford Green.
  • In Norwich from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the marina area near the gazebo.
