Teen Shot During Robbery in East Haven

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the chest during a robbery in East Haven Thursday, according to officials, and they are looking for the shooter.

Police officers and firefighters were called to French Avenue at 12:18 p.m. and determined that the East Haven boy was shot in an alley that connects Thompson Avenue and Tuttle School, officials said. The teen then went to a home on French Avenue.

He was transported to the hospital, officials said, and he was conscious and talking.

The teen told first responders that he knew the suspects and they were in a silver Honda, officials said. The suspected shooter is in his late teens, officials said.

East Haven officials believe this is an isolated incident and ask witnesses to contact police. They are also asking residents in the Thompson Avenue, Iver Avenue, Taylor Avenue and French Avenue areas to review any surveillance footage for the silver Honda or anything suspicious.
