A 19-year-old North Granby man has died after a fiery crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 south in East Windsor overnight, according to state police.
State police said a vehicle and a tractor-trailer collided in the right lane of the highway on Sunday around 11:20 p.m. The crash caused both vehicles to be engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from East Windsor Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with the vehicle fire.

The driver of the vehicle involved sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
State police have identified the man who died as Owen Thomas Contreras, 19, of North Granby.
Troopers said the driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital.

The crash closed the highway between exits 44 and 42 for an extended amount of time. It has since fully reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
