Impaired Woman Hit People and Cars at Oakdale Theatre: Police

One woman was arrested after hitting people and cars at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford Friday night, according to Wallingford police, and  they said she was intoxicated.

Police said 24-year-old Shelby Coughlin, of Milford, hit two people and six cars after a Rick Ross concert around 11:38 p.m.

According to police, officers were running alongside Coughlin’s car and had to break a window to stop it. Coughlin resisted arrested and bit an officer during the incident, police said.

Police said a total of three people were injured including an officer that had injuries to his hand for breaking the car window. They were all transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police said Coughlin faces a number of charges including DUI, disobeying an officer’s signal, criminal attempt assault in the second-degree and assault on a police officer.

Coughlin was held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 30.
