New Haven Police are investigating after a woman died from her injuries following what appears to have been a crash in the Fair Haven neighborhood early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to Peck Street near Ferry Street around 4:15 a.m. after getting a report of a crash with significant injuries.
When police and emergency medical responders arrived to the scene, they said they found a woman who was either a pedestrian or a former passenger in a motor vehicle that had already left the scene.
The 46-year-old woman was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later, authorities said. Her identity has not been released.
A crime scene was held in the 200 block of Peck Street overnight while police investigated the incident and canvassed the neighborhood.
