Missing Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin, who was believed to be "kidnapped" and dragged into a tunnel by Hamas militants, is dead according to the Israeli Defense Forces. Goldin, 23, was reported missing after an ambush by militants Friday morning left two other IDF soldiers dead. Hamas' military wing said this weekend that it believed Goldin was killed along with the militants who captured him during an Israeli bombardment. More than 1,700 Palestinians and 67 Israelis have been killed in the conflict that began July 8.
