Flood Warnings in Midwest Follow Storms, Torrential Rain

Flood warnings are in effect through Thursday night across several Midwestern states after large swaths of the region faced harsh weather that seemed hardly spring-like. More than four inches of rainfall were reported in several locations in Chicago, roiling flights at O'Hare International Airport, where over 300 hundreds flights were canceled, and at Midway International Airport, where there were delays. Flood warnings stretched from northeastern Oklahoma to Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin and parts of lower Michigan, according to Weather.com. Major flooding is expected along the Mississippi River in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri with rainfall that is expected to move east and a weather system that stretches from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast. The system is expected to move to the eastern seaboard on Friday, bringing rain, hail and tornadoes.
