Video: ‘We got a goalie fight in the Tim's Toyota Center!'

As David Singer explained on HockeyFights.com yesterday, the Central Hockey League has blessed us with another gem of a fight video. This one goes back nearly a month to Dec. 19, but it's worth the trip to see the Texas Brahmas and Arizona Sundogs slug it out. The line brawl's a little slow to start, but business really picks up when the goalies throw down:

From Texas Brahmas Insider:

The game regressed into pandemonium with 55 seconds left when Matt Hanson took a shot at a Sundog before the faceoff and almost immediately, all five skaters paired off with their opponents. While the ten duked it out, David Cacciola skated out and was met by Marco Emond and we had our first goalie fight of the season. Both netminders connected several times before dropping to the ice and separating. Matt Hanson, Greg McConnell and Eric Lundberg were ejected as well as Marco Emond.

A spirited effort, no doubt; but clearly inferior to the incredible Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Corpus Christi IceRays CHL brawl that may have been the fight highlight of 2008.

Let's face it: "We got a goalie fight in the Tim's Toyota Center!" is a nice call. But it's never going to touch "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR RUNNING KEN CARROLL!" Not in a million years, when all that's left are Twinkies, minor league fight clips and Chris Chelios.
