You don't see zombies in Norwich everyday.

Talk about a traffic nightmare -- drivers in Norwich might run into some zombies if they're not careful.

The zombies are part of a movie being filmed in downtown Norwich this month.

The movie is based on the graphic novel "Remains," where the zombies are the result of a nuclear power plant explosion, according to the website On Location Vacations.

The movie's producer, Andrew Gernhard, is a Norwich native and 1995 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. The movie will also film in Mystic.

On Monday, police said to expect road closures on Franklin Street from Main to Willow streets and Bath Street at the intersection of Franklin Street. Eastbound traffic on Main Street will be detoured while the filming is under way.
