Snow Coats Connecticut

Snow Continues Across the State

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for parts of Connecticut Saturday morning.

The warning was posted hours after the snow began falling across the state, because a narrow band of snow was expected to drop heavier snow in areas of southern Connecticut.

The winter storm warning was issued at 11 a.m. for Fairfield County, New Haven County, Middlesex County and New London County. While most of the state was expected to see 3 to 6 inches of snow, inland areas of those counties could see as much as 8 inches of snow.

Snow will continue at a light to occasionally moderate pace through midday. Snow will end after 1 p.m. from west to east.

The snow caused minor problems on Connecticut highways Saturday.  State police responded to more than 50 accidents as of 11:30 a.m.  There were no serious injuries from any of the crashes, according to state police.
