A woman was caught on camera feeding an alligator at a Port St. Lucie senior living complex.

The video that was recently released is about a year old, neighbors in the Florida community told WPTV.

In the video, the woman is seen sitting on the ground as the gator approaches her from a small body of water. The woman even kicks at the gator when it appears to get too close.

"It was quite alarming to see this woman just sitting by the water with this alligator just feet, in some cases inches from her," Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Katie Johnson said.

Neighbors say the gator was so used to getting fed, it would chase people with steaks.

The gator was removed and the FWC is investigating the incident. It is illegal to feed alligators in Florida.
