Father Who Shot Son Improving at Hospital

A domestic incident in Griswold ended deadly Saturday evening after two people were stabbed and one was shot to death.

Around 7:40 p.m. State Police were called to Bethel Road after receiving a 911 call with a report of a shooting.

Bethel Road was blocked off while the State Police Major Crime Squad secured the scene.

According to Police, 24-year-old David Gemeasky Jr. came into the bedroom of his parents, 44-year-old Tamara Brennan and 45-year-old David Gemeasky Sr. and stabbed his father while he was in bed. He then stabbed his mother as she was trying to escape the attack.

Gemeasky Sr. was able to retrieve his shotgun and shoot his son.

When officers arrived they located Brennan and Gemeasky Sr. both suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Police found Gemeasky Jr. in a basement bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Both stab victims were transported to William Backus Hospital where they suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The Norwich Bulletin reports that David Gemeasky Sr.'s condition was upgraded from serious to fair.

State Police Public Information Officer Lt. J. Paul Vance stated that the incident was isolated and the investigation is ongoing.
