A gruesome find at a Trumbull park.

A dozen dead rabbits were dumped in a park in Trumbull and animal control officials want to know how they got there. Officer Lynn Dellabianca was called out to Twin Brooks Park Friday morning.  She says she found eight dead bunnies and one that was still alive. Then over the weekend, more bunnies were found. Four dead ones and two live ones.

The surviving rabbits were taken away by animal rescue groups.

At this point, it's unclear how the other rabbits died.

Judging by their dirty and tangled fur, officials seem to think the animals weren’t being taken care of properly and perhaps the owner dumped them at the park.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Trumbull animal control office.
