Interstate 84 eastbound was congested for more than a mile and a half between exits 40 and 43 in West Hartford because of a crash around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
According to the alert from the state Department of Transportation, several cars were involved in the crash and the left and right lanes were closed.
The accident was cleared after about an hour. There was no word on injuries.
