They sacrificed for our country, but for millions of veterans, the hardest part of returning home is finding a job.
Comcast and NBCUniversal have teamed up with “Hiring Our Heroes,” a program of the U.S Chamber of Commerce Foundation, to put veterans to work.
A job fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Lyceum, located at 227 Lawrence Street in Hartford.
“Hiring our Heroes” seeks to help veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses find employment.
Hiring for Heroes has hosted more than 610 hiring fairs in all 50 states and to date 93,000 hires have been confirmed.
Over the summer, NBC News and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched a jobs and education resource portal -- ResumeEngine.org -- to connect veterans and their families with up-to-date tools and information to help them in their transition after returning home from military service.
