Police arrested a man in New London after they received a call reporting a man displaying in gun in the area of Nowhere Cafe just after midnight on Wednesday.
Ulpiano Lugo, 35, of New London, is facing multiple charges including criminal possession of a handgun and breach of peace.
New London police responded to the area near the cafe at 454 Colman Street at about 12:41 a.m. on Wednesday to investigate a 911 call reporting an armed man "flashing" a gun, police said.
Police observed a man matching the physical and clothing description the caller gave them "abruptly" walking to the Aaron's Rental and saw him get into a car parked in that lot, police said.
Officers detained the man, identified as Lugo, and found a .22 caliber handgun on the van's rear bumper.
New London police charged Lugo with criminal possession of a handgun, carrying a pistol without a permit, breach of peace and interfering with police.
Lugo is a convicted felon, police said.

Police are holding Lugo in custody in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
