Man Breaks Into Hooker Brewery, Steals $800 in Donations

Police are searching for the man who broke into the Hooker Brewery in Bloomfield last night and stole a donation jar containing $800 toward a charity for homeless children from the bar counter.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect throwing a rock through the front window of the brewery at 16 Tobey Road in Bloomfield around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to Hooker Brewery owner Curt Cameron, the crook made off with the brewery's collection jar for the Village for Families and Children, an agency that finds homes and behavioral health treatment for abandoned or neglected kids.

"The guy must have been here before because he knew exactly what he was going for," Cameron said. "I'm actually on the board of directors [at the Village for Families and Children], and believe it or not, I was actually adopted from there, so it's dear and close to me."

The organization helps about 8,000 children per year, Cameron said.

Surveillance video shows the suspect breaking in and fleeing the store moments later.
