Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a Naugatuck liquor store on Wednesday evening.
According to police, a man walked into Paiva's Liquors at 161 Rubber Avenue around 5:50 p.m., brandishing a small, dark object that appeared to be a knife.
Police said the suspect demanded cash but a store clerk refused, at which point the would-be robber ran off. K-9s tried unsuccessfully to track him.
He's described as a heavyset man wearing a hunter green jacket and white baseball cap.
