Sijoon Park never returned from a bus trip to Foxwoods.

State police found the body of a missing Flushing, New York man in a Ledyard pond after a two-day search.

Police said they began looking for Sijoon Park on July 9, when his wife reported him missing, and found his body the next day.

Park’s wife told police that Sijoon took a bus to Foxwoods Casino on the afternoon of July 7 for a one-day bus trip and she had not heard from his since 7:45 p.m. that evening, when he sent her a text saying he was going for a hike on Lantern Hill in Ledyard before taking the bus home.

Park’s wife said she went to the bus station, where she found her husband’s car at the terminal with a parking ticket, then took a bus to Foxwoods and reported her husband missing to state police, police said.

Police dogs followed a trail from the trail head at Two Trees Hotel.
Using photos Sijoon had texted to his wife, police located the area of the trail he had been on and said there were steep drop-offs on both sides.

On July 10, police found Sijoon Park’s shoes and cigarettes, then located his body in Lantern Hill Pond, police said.

They identified him through his New York driver’s license.
