Teacher's Aide Accused of Sex With Teen Pleads Not Guilty

A 46-year-old teacher's aide accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy she once taught in preschool has pleaded not guilty.

Former Wooster Middle School paraprofessional Kyle Damato-Kushel, 46, entered not guilty pleas and she is due in court on March 3. 

There are two cases against Damato-Kushel. Stratford police charged her with sexual assault, illegal sexual contact and tampering with a witness.  

Trumbull police charged her with three counts of three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and four counts of risk of injury to a minor.

She pleaded not guilty in both cases.

 According to police, the victim told officers he had been having sex with Damato-Kushel since the summer of 2013, when he was in seventh grade. The victim allegedly got Damato-Kushel pregnant at one point but she had a miscarriage.

Police said Damato-Kushel offered the victim $900 if he didn't reveal their relationship .

When Damato-Kushel was arraigned, she declined comment as she left the courthouse.
