Man in Critical Condition After Tree Hits His Head

A tree service was cutting down trees along a driveway on Crane Place.

A 72-year-old Simsbury man was flown to the hospital after part of a tree hit him on the head, according to police.

George Craig Roselli was out for a walk and was in his driveway on Crane Place on Tuesday when he was struck in the head and shoulder, police said.

Workers from the Maximum Tree Service were cutting down trees and limbs along the driveway, cut a part of the tree and it fell and hit Roselli, police said.

When Lifestar took Roselli from the scene, he was conscious, alert and talking, police said. Police later issued a news release stating that he is in critical condition.

The tree service has stopped its work for now.

Simsbury Police are investigating and will look into whether the company took proper safety precautions.

Police said Roselli lives with sister and her family at Meadow Plane Farm.
