I'm sure she has a great sense of humor, but Aimee Mann will probably be one of the least funny people on your agenda tonight. The singer is performing in Norwalk.

From the chuckles, to the guffaws, to the littlest tee-hees, laughter of all kinds will be in the air tonight in Hartford.

The Russell in Hartford is your home for some Tuesday night comedy. The club features live stand-up comedians, and you can even try your hat at nailing the punch-line with an open comedy mic. Tuesday Comedy night is hosted by Ted Steier, and features prize giveaways and drink specials all night long.

Comedy of a different kind is on display at Hartford Stage tonight. Equipped with one microphone, "The Umbilical Brothers" combine their twisted imaginations, and amped up vocal cords to deliver some serious theatrical action comedy to "THWAK!".  The "Brothers" use their unique skills to mimic every sound imaginable, and create a warped world filled with carefully choreographed mayhem. The show runs through August 2.  Click here, or call Hartford Stage for tickets.

Finally, one of pop-music's most critically acclaimed singer-songwriters of her generation is taking to the stage in Norfolk.  Aimee Mann, former of the '80s group Til'Tuesday, is playing at the Infinity Music Hall & Bistro. Besides her six solo albums, Mann also provided the soundtrack to the 1999 hit movie "Magnolia."  Her latest album, “@#%&*! Smilers,” even earned her a Grammy nomination.  Tickets to tonight's 8 p.m. show are between $35 and $55.
