Michael Bay: Megan Fox Fired for Hitler Comment

In May 2010, as production geared up for the third installment in the "Transformers" franchise, Megan Fox's publicist released this statement.

“Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3, It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”

Well, that statement may not jive with reality. "Transformers" director Michael Bay recently told the Daily Mail that Fox was fired from the production after she gave an interview comparing Bay to Hitler. The comparison, to put it mildly, did not sit well with executive producer Steven Spielberg.

"You know the Hitler thing?" said Bay. "Steven said, 'Fire her on the spot.'"

Fox was in the plans for the upcoming "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" until she gave an interview with a British magazine in which she described Bay thusly:

"He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward."

Just recently, co-star Shia LaBeouf tried to reinforce the notion that Fox's departure was her decision, suggesting the 24 year-old actress was uncomfortable playing the sex symbol.

Fox's part was rewritten and a new character played by former Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely will be featured as the film's love interest.
